An elegant and well detailed marble sculpture of a beautiful maiden holding aloft a flowering branch.

Emile Arthur Soldi – Colbert was born 27th May 1846 in Paris. He was a pupil of Farochon, Lequesne and Dumont and was awarded first place at the Prix de Rome in 1869. He made his debut at the 1872 Salon and won a third class medal in 1873. He was made Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1878. He died 14th March 1906 in Rome.
