A beautiful tortoiseshell and gold oval desk stand having a pen rest with a tortoiseshell and gold dip pen, with a circular recess for the circular ink bottle with a gold and tortoiseshell top, the stationary box opens to reveal a red leather and red silk interior with compartments for envelopes, stamps, etc, both items are inlaid with gold decoration of birds, trailing foliage, ribbons and hanging flower baskets, a superb set.
