THE SYCAMORE TREE

The first panel shows the Feng Hwang swooping down towards a pebbly shore with tall, grass-topped purple rocks. A brownie appears to be using a spider’s web as a trampoline, watched by a figure with red wings sitting on the tallest rock.
On the second panel, a yellow, green and blue bridge connects the trunk of the tree to similar tall rocks on which stands another winged figure. Both panels have poles from which hang Chinese lanterns, and various weird brown creatures are scattered around.
A somewhat different character marks the third panel which has a very curved black tree, aslant on a cliff edge, half hiding a distant island set in the sea, from which rise tall minarets. A ship sailing towards the shore and a female figure is floating downwards from the tree, on the top branch of which sits an elf with red wings. On all three panels the sky is pink shading down to a deeper lilac.
The cover of the vase has the leaf fairy design whilst the inside of the cover which the Elves on a Branch.
