A lovely antique oval cast silver, hinged top, table snuff box by Edward Farrell. The top has high relief scene of five gentlemen sitting outside around a wooden bench smoking clay pipes and drinking amongst a wooded background. The interior has the original gilt lining. The base is inscribed ‘Hugh J D Astley, presented by his Grand-papa John W Astley, 29th Sept, 1859′ The box is hallmarked London 1821 and with the makers mark EF for Edward Farrell. 151 grms; 5.3 oz.
