Good early colour, good condition with wide margins extra. Slight discolouration to the paper. There is a very goodbook about printed maps of the British Isles by R.W. Shirley in which he says ‘Delisle’s general map of the British Isles, produced at the beginning of his career, fully reflects the high standard of his work. It is as accurate as may be expected for the time based on the foremost acknowledges authorities for each part: Speed for England and Wales, Pomt for Scotland and Petty for Ireland. Takes as a whole, the map is a fine example of polished engraving, restrained decoration and pleasing balance.’
